job summary:
This onsite Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EI&C) Technician position supports the energy and gas transmission industry across lower peninsula Michigan. Operating 5 days a week (Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day with required overtime), you will lead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across critical process control systems. Responsibilities include system commissioning, SOX inspections, SCADA integration, and cross-functional project support to ensure maximum operational reliability.

responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and document preventive/corrective maintenance work orders, testing, and SOX witness inspections.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, and control software faults using root-cause analysis.
- Calibrate, configure, and maintain transducers, gas chromatographs, flow computers, and RTU/SCADA systems.
- Service gas compressor controls, pressure regulators, motors, HMIs, air compressors, and relief valves.
- Assist with system commissioning, checkout, project construction, and technical drawing updates.
qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong technical proficiency in diagnosing complex electrical, instrumentation, and process control systems within industrial settings. Strict compliance with industrial safety practices, the ability to interpret P&IDs and schematics, and maintaining Consumers Energy Operator Qualifications (OQ) are required. A technical degree or vocational training in Electrical Technology or Instrumentation, along with electrical licensing or relevant industry certifications, is preferred.
